Hi Adams Ave Business Owners,
My name is Ashley McNulty, and I’m excited to introduce myself as part of the Advancement Team at The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP), located right off Adams Avenue at Oregon and Copley. As San Diego’s oldest high school and the only remaining all-girls school, OLP has been a leader in women’s education and empowerment for 142 years. With a strong network of over 10,000 alumnae, families from 79 different zip codes across San Diego and Baja California, and international recognition through the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS), OLP continues to be a shining example of excellence in all-girls education.
Each year during Women’s History Month (March), OLP proudly hosts our annual Women’s Symposium, a signature event that brings together an average of 1,200 guests—including students, parents, alumnae, and friends of OLP—for a day of inspiration, learning, and networking. Over the last decade, we’ve welcomed more than 500 speakers and vendors and opened our doors to the broader SoCal community, making this event a powerful platform to celebrate and amplify women’s voices.
This year we are launching a new initiative with the goal of building partnerships with local businesses on Adams Ave to promote your business to our OLP community and widen our network of supporters. “Allies on Adams,” is an initiative to encourage our attendees of Women’s Symposium and students, families, alumnae, friends of OLP to support businesses along Adams Avenue, recognizing the vital role they play in our neighborhood. We are launching this event with this year’s Women’s Symposium but we see this initiative growing into a year long partnership between OLP and local businesses.
To our team, we see the Women’s Symposium as an introduction to the OLP community that we hope will turn into lasting partnerships that gives your business access to a community that’s homebase is in the Adams Ave neighborhood but comes from all around San Diego and Baja California. My colleagues and I will be stopping into Adams Ave Business over the next two weeks to introduce ourselves in-person.
